Louisiana's second "Fair Person of
the Year", so named in 1991 by the Louisiana State Tourist
Commission, Curtis Hue is a man with a mind for business, although
he also has an eye for entertainment.
A member of L.A.F.F. since 1979,
Curtis has served the Association in every capacity except
Treasurer. He has been elected to the Board of Directors, Vice
President, President (twice -- 1986 & 1987) and Secretary. He has
also been appointed Convention Chairman.
Always willing to lend a hand, voice
or ear to the Association, Curtis devised a seating plan for the
Saturday night banquet at the Annual Convention that is still being
utilized. At the annual auction, his stiletto voice has made the
event a happening as well as a fund raiser for the Association. He
serves as an auctioneer for most of the fairs & festivals in
Lafourche Parish.
Representing the Thibodaux Firemen's
Fair Association, Curtis has served on its Board of Directors since
1963 and has been Fair chairman four times!
A member of the Thibodaux Fire Co. #1
for 32 years, Curtis has served as President, Secretary, Captain,
First Lieutenant and Second Lieutenant and Assistant Chief and
Communications Director.
On the state level, he has been a
member of the Louisiana State Firemen's Association since 1963. He
is a Life Member of that Association, having served on its board for
eight years and as President in 1988.
A civic minded person, Curtis is a
member of the Lafourche Parish Democratic Executive Committee, was
the 1971 Outstanding Young Man of Thibodaux as selected by the
Thibodaux Jaycees and was President of the PTA for ten consecutive
years. |
