She has helped organize the Summer Fishing Rodeo Fest in Cameron Parish. She has been very active working with the Girl Scouts. Margarette has worked very hard with the Girl Scouts in the past years. She was honored by the Troops in Hackberry, LA for all of the past practices such as manning the Girl Scout Booth at the Marshland Festival in Hackberry, and the Cajun Rivera Festival in Holly Beach, LA.

Margarette has worked the ticket booths for the Cajun French Music Association Festival held annually at the Burton Coliseum. She has volunteered her services in various ways at the First Robeline Heritage Festival, Sulphur Mines Festival, Starks Mayhaw Festival, the Sabine Parish Fair, in Many, LA, the Calcasieu Cajun Festival in Vinton, LA, the Hodges Gardens Independence Day Festival, in Florien, LA and Calca Chew Food Festival in Lake Charles, LA.

She has served one year on the Board of Directors of Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals  (L.A.F.F.).  She has served as Chairman of Registration for L.A.F.F. for the past six years. Margarette was the Poster Chairman for L.A.F.F. for one year. Has attended Zone Meetings, I.A.F.E. Convention in Las Vegas and traveled throughout the State with her husband promoting Tourism, Cal-Cam Fair, and L.A.F.F.

Margarette was employed as a Bus Driver for the Louisiana State Department of Health and Human Resources for six years. She was a Calcasieu Parish School Bus Driver for the school system for five years.

Margarette has been on the Calcasieu-Cameron Fair Board of Directors for the past seven years. She volunteers her time whenever possible to help better the Calcasieu-Cameron Fair.

She is involved as a volunteer with the Calcasieu Association for Retarded Citizens (C.A.R.C.), United Way, Heart Fund Drive and the Early Intervention Program for the Handicapped. She is the Chairperson for "Special Visitors Day" at the Cal-Cam Fair each year. She assists with the registration desk.
