Three years ago we felt very few
people knew about our part of the state. This lady went door to door
to get people involved forming a festival association. The monies
raised were dedicated to help promote tourism in our parish. She has
no personal gain from getting people to the area. She has continued
to work with our community as well as two other festivals in the
parish.
We have a extremely successful
festival at the hottest part of the year. Due to her unselfish
efforts we are now able to promote our area and have seen an
increase in visitors.
In the three years she has
represented our association as a Board of Directors for L.A.F.F.,
served two years on the Travel and Tourist Summit Steering
Committee, serves on the Southwest Louisiana Marketing Consortium,
and served on the Louisiana Travel Promotion Marketing Committee.
She was instrumental in getting the opening ceremonies for the
Louisiana Rural Tourism Development Conference to be held at our
festival grounds.
All of these accomplishments have
been due to Puddy’s willingness to help other committees. |
