With the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals convention a less than two weeks away, we wanted to convey some important information.
Election guidelines that were recently adopted by the board to be implemented for this year’s elections and going forward can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
This year Districts 3 and District 4 will be electing their district directors, as well as elections for the executive officers. If you are anyone from your organization is interested in running for a position, please remember that nomination letters need to be turned in before 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of convention. Also, please make sure you look over the guideline and share them with anyone who may be running for a position.
We are excited that this year, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and the LA Seafood Marketing Board will be hosting a luncheon for us on the Friday of convention. This is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. and should be completed by 1:00 p.m. We are asking if you can respond to us, by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and let us know if your fair or festival will be in attendance for this event Friday afternoon and how many people will possibly be there, it would help us prepare accordingly with the hotel and Lt. Governor’s office.
This year, we have created a “passport” program to generate more visitors to the tradeshow. One lucky person that completes the passport and returns it for the drawing will win $250 in cash. See the registration desk for details on this program. Lastly, we will be awarding 3 - $50 cash prizes at the end of Friday and Saturday’s luncheon, so you may want to stay until the end and see if you will win.
