What is LAFF?
The Louisiana Association of Fairs & Festivals is a
nonprofit organization financed solely by annual membership dues. The Association is
in existence to help promote the value and importance of fairs and festivals, serves as a
strong support group to members with the desire to improve the event. An elected,
representative board of directors governs the activities within the association.
Who is LAFF?
Membership includes community, parish, district and regional
fairs, shows and festivals located in the State of Louisiana. Membership also
includes industry representatives who provide supplies or service to fairs and festivals
as associate members. Membership is the primary strength of the association.
Why join LAFF?
The growth and success of your event and business requires
hard work and innovation. You have to supply the hard work, but innovation comes
from seeing, hearing and gaining knowledge of what is happening with other events in and
around Louisiana. Large, active membership expands the pool of resources for members
to draw from. It is extremely important to the survival and success of fairs and
festivals to group together along with associate members to work towards overcoming the
obstacles that face the fair and festival industry. Besides helping educate each
other, special, long-term friendships result from the association of our members.
Annual Convention
Held in the first quarter of the year, the annual convention
is the highlight of the association's activities. Industry speakers, panel workshops
and round table discussions are offered to give participants the opportunity to share
information, ideas and experiences. Industry representatives are available at a
Trade Show and in Hospitality Suites to assist attendees with plans and purchases for
upcoming events. The talent showcases banquets, hospitality rooms and the festival
atmosphere provide education, fellowship and fun for all who attend.
Informing member fairs and festivals of legislative issues
which affect the fair/festival industry is one of the priorities of the association.
The membership directory is published by the association for
the direct benefit of its members. The directory provides a list of the current year
officers and directors of LAFF an alphabetical listing of fairs/festivals organized by
district and an alphabetical listing of associate members, complete with addresses and
telephone numbers organized by services or products provided. The membership
directory is available to members as a part of the annual dues.
Newsletters are periodically sent to all LAFF members.
Their purpose is to keep fair/festival managers and board members abreast of current
legislative happenings, along with convention news and information of interest to all
members.
LAFF provides membership event dates, locations and contact
person information as requested by interested persons and is sent to several state and
