Alex River Fete is Alexandria's signature spring festival, held along the banks of the Red River. It began in 2013 as a city-led initiative to create a flagship celebration that would highlight the region's arts, culture, and heritage while revitalizing downtown. Since its inception, Alex River Fete has grown into a three-day celebration that typically begins on a Thursday evening and continues through Saturday. Anchored by events such as Dinner on the Bricks, ArtFete, Que'in on the Red and the Indie Village vendor market, the festival fills the streets of downtown with art displays, live performances, food vendors and family activities.
